Avalanche, Solana, or Ethereum? Kevin O'Leary of Shark Tank Explains His Crypto Investing Strategy

Shark Tank's Kevin O'Leary has revealed his strategy for investing in the top altcoin projects by market cap.

In a new interview with CNBC's Squawk Box, the renowned investor and entrepreneur says it's impossible to predict which of the leading projects will triumph in the long run because

their development teams are all extremely talented.

O'Leary says his strategy is to "own them all," specifically mentioning Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Helium (HNT), and Avalanche (AVAX).

"The whole point is that you don't know who will win." Is Ethereum going to triumph? Is Solana going to be victorious? Is Helium present? Is it Avalanche, or Avalanche? I own all of them.

Fortunately, they are all software development teams. You go meet these people and discover they're in their twenties. They are the world's smartest engineers."

The business magnate, who was once a crypto skeptic, now claims that digital assets account for 20% of his current portfolio.

I have millions of dollars. Twenty percent of my portfolio is now in cryptocurrencies and blockchain.

O'Leary stated in October that cryptocurrencies made up 7% of his overall portfolio.

O'Leary, who recently met with Wyoming Republican Senator Cynthia Lummis and other US lawmakers to discuss crypto regulations, also urges lawmakers to quickly adopt a regulatory framework for crypto assets or risk falling behind other countries.

"Canadians are more advanced... The same can be said for the United Arab Emirates and Switzerland.

We are so far behind in terms of policy for this fledgling industry that will lead the world of financial services. We have to get going."
